Viladrau was the Catalonian village where most witches were executed.

Since 1997, as part of the events to mark the Fira de la Castanya in Viladrau, when night falls on All Saints Eve, the 31st of October, Viladrau commemorates one of the most tragic episodes in its history: the persecution of the witches.

Tradition has it that everything started during a meeting of witches held in Sant Segimon on All Saints Eve in the year 1617.

Centuries later, in the present day, everything continues in the middle of the Plaza Mayor.
